You can use the calculator, the comparison and the guides without giving Camber your name or your email address. This page says what is collected, when, and who handles it.

Who is responsible for your data

Camber is published by Codable Labs Ltd, [ADDRESS].

What Camber never asks for

  • Your PPSN.
  • A password. Sign-in is by a link sent to your email address.
  • Registration documents.
  • Card details. Those go to Stripe and never reach Camber.

If a page or an email in Camber's name asks for any of these, do not supply it.

The calculator

The calculator runs in your browser. The figures you enter are kept in your browser's local storage, on your own device, so they are still there when you come back. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

When Camber collects an email address

Only when you do one of these:

  • sign in, to get deadline reminders or to keep your import files in an account. Camber sends a sign-in link to your address. There is no password.
  • buy a report,
  • subscribe to updates,
  • send an enquiry to a partner.

Import files

An import file holds the car, its costs, the dates of the import, where each document stands, and what you paid. You can start one without an account. It is then kept in your browser's local storage, on your own device, and Camber does not receive it.

When you sign in and move an import file to your account, Camber stores it against your account so you can open it on any device and be sent reminders. Deleting your account deletes its import files.

Camber records where a document stands: to get, asked for, or in hand. It never asks for a copy of a document, and there is nowhere on the site to upload one.

When an import is finished you can choose to add what Revenue charged to the outcome data. Only the make, model, year, fuel, the value and VRT applied, the month and the centre are sent. They are sent without your name, email or account, and are not linked to your import file.

Payments

Card payments are handled by Stripe. You enter your card details with Stripe, and card data never reaches Camber.

Outcome reports

An outcome report is anonymous. To limit how many reports can come from one place, Camber stores a salted hash of the IP address the report came from. It never stores the IP address itself.

Analytics

Camber counts visits with Plausible, which sets no cookies. No vehicle data and no personal data is sent in analytics events.
